FAQ
How is the credit for Sponsor Product ads awarded?
Follow the steps below to check whether credit has been awarded.
1. Go to Reports > Payments > Advertising Invoice History in Seller Central
2. Check "Promotional credit available". Credit awarded for this campaign will be displayed as "FBA New ASIN promotion".
When will I be billed for my Sponsored Product ads?
Your advertising fees will be billed each time the total balance due reaches your credit limit*. If you have a balance due for the previous month, you incur this charge on the 3rd day of each month. This means that you may be billed more than once within a single month.
*About credit limits
Your credit limit is initially set at 100 JPY, and increases one level in the credit ladder each time you make a successful payment: to 5,000 JPY, 15,000 JPY, 20,000JPY, 35,000 JPY, and finally to the maximum amount of 50,000 JPY. In other words, when your total balance due for advertising first reaches 100 JPY and you successfully make this payment, your credit limit is increased to 5,000 JPY. This means that you will not be billed again until your total balance due reaches 5,000 JPY. Similarly, if you successfully pay the 5,000 JPY-plus bill, you will not be billed again until your total balance due reaches 15,000 JPY, and so forth.
I meet the campaign conditions, but am I among the first 500 accounts to do so?
We will contact you via email within approximately 10 working days of awarding credit.
When will the credit for my Sponsored Product ad be awarded?
Your credit will be awarded within 10 working days after you meet campaign conditions.
What happens if I'm not one of the first 500 accounts to apply?
When the number of applicants reaches its limit of 500 accounts, all subsequent accounts that meet campaign requirements will not be eligible for the credit reward. We will promptly notify you when the quota is reached, but please be noted that you will assume the costs resulting from the ads you set up.
I registered to use Sponsored Products, but no credit has been awarded after 10 working days. Does this mean that the 500-account limit has been reached already?
We would have promptly notified you via email when the quota has been reached. If you haven't received this email, and you don't receive an email notifying that your credit has been awarded within 10 working days, please contact Seller Support.
I registered to use Sponsored Products, but no credit has been awarded after 10 working days. Does this mean that the product I listed was not deemed a "new product"?
Please contact Seller Support.
What happens if I purchase more Sponsored Product ads than the 5,000 JPY credit covers?
Any amount exceeding 5,000 JPY will be billed to the credit card used to register for Sponsored Product ads, or deducted from your selling account balance.
See Reports > Payments > Advertising Invoice History in Seller Central for details.
Is there any way for me to see when I started using Sponsored Products?
Go to Advertising > Seller Ads in Seller Central, and view Campaign Manager.
What does Amazon mean by "new products"?
"New products" are products (ASINs) newly listed in the Amazon catalog starting March 18, 2019.
Is there an expiration date for the 5,000 JPY credit for Sponsored Product ads?
The credit expires on September 30, 2019. Any credit that remains unused after this date will be discarded. Please note that you may not request to use or redeem this expired amount.
I listed more than one new product. Does that mean I get 5,000 JPY worth of credit for each product?
The credit amount awarded is 5,000 JPY per seller account. This means that even if more than one product is listed for a single account, the total credit amount available is still 5,000 JPY.
Can I change how I receive the credit?
Yes, you can make changes on Campaign Manager, in "Setting/Adding Charge Methods for Advertising" of "Advertising Settings".
